Who Are We:
The Brown Research Club was formally recognized as a UCS organization in May 2018 and is now a Category III student group. Our three principal goals are as follows:
Our 3 Core Committees:
Events Committee
The Events committee is a combination of the previous Panels, Workshops, and Symposia committees. The committee's main focus is to host events that help Brown undergraduates learn more about the research being conducted at the University and how to become involved. In addition to these informational events, we hope to expand our influence beyond the Brown community to spark scientific interest in the Providence community and host a large-scale symposium in the future. We heavily emphasize an interdisciplinary approach to research and welcome students from any discipline to our events!
Journal Committee
The Journal committee edits, compiles, and publishes the Brown Undergraduate Research Journal (BURJ). The BURJ was developed by BRC in order to provide a unique platform for the showcasing of research completed by Brown University undergraduates and recent graduates. This work may have been completed in a University laboratory in collaboration with a faculty member, independently with the use of archival materials, or during the summer through a research internship. Students conducting research in any field are encouraged to submit their work to the BURJ for consideration after obtaining the approval of mentors and any co-authors.
After a successful first edition in the Spring of 2019 and a long delay caused by COVID-19, we are excited to have officially released our second edition. Fittingly, this second edition features an emphasis on innovative work conducted remotely during the pandemic and features abstracts in addition to full-length articles.
Submissions for the third edition of the BURJ will be accepted beginning in Fall 2021.
Development Committee
The Development committee is a combination of the previous Internship and Lab committees. The committee's main focus is to create a database for Brown undergrads to learn more about labs that they are interested in from an undergraduate perspective before committing to work in said lab and to provide the undergraduate community with a database of research internships. We hope to have these resources available in the Spring of 2021 and will be continuously updating both databases with new opportunities and updates.

The Brown Research Club was formally recognized as a UCS organization in May 2018 and is now a Category III student group. Our three principal goals are as follows:
- To build a more unified research community on campus
- To connect students looking for research opportunities to professors on campus, while helping them find and prepare for opportunities off-campus and beyond Brown as well
- To allow students with research experience to hone their communication skills through symposiums, article/journal writing, and presentation practice
